Tasting & Production Notes
This young red wine from the 2020 vintage is made entirely from Tempranillo grapes grown in Lanciego, Rioja Alavesa. It is crafted from a selection of the finest vineyards in the area. The grapes were hand-harvested between September 21 and October 8, 2020, at optimal ripeness to ensure the wine’s quality. Traditional winemaking methods were used throughout the production process.
Tasting Notes
Bright ruby red with high intensity and violet highlights.
On the nose, it is fresh and expressive, with aromas of red and black fruits typical of Tempranillo grown in this region.
On the palate, it has a smooth, approachable entry—fruit-forward, balanced, with a very pleasant texture and excellent structure. The fruity character carries through the entire tasting experience, making it a wine to savor and enjoy.

This 2019 Crianza red wine is made entirely from Tempranillo grapes grown in Lanciego, Rioja Alavesa. Staying true to their roots, the Blanco Pérez de Azpillaga family works with vines over 35 years old.
The harvest began on September 27, when the grapes had reached optimal ripeness in terms of analytical parameters, flavor, and texture. Only the best clusters were selected. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations were carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was then aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by a minimum of six months in the bottle before release.

Deep cherry red with a dense, full-bodied color.
On the nose, it is fresh and expressive, combining vibrant fruit aromas with the subtle tertiary notes of oak. Hints of spices and dried fruits add complexity.

Vineyard Characteristics
Las Canteras is a parcel planted in 1931 in the village of Lanciego at 542 meters above sea level. Covering 0.75 hectares, it contains 2,400 Tempranillo vines, dry-farmed and grown in traditional bush (“vaso”) style.
Production Notes
Grapes were hand-harvested in 15 kg boxes and destemmed. Fermentation took place spontaneously in open 1,000 kg vats, using traditional punch-down techniques without pumping over. Malolactic fermentation and batonnage on the lees were carried out in French and American oak barrels, adding texture and complexity.
