Wines Defined by Elegance
Crafted with Intention
With a meticulous, hands-on approach, Iván del Río produces wines that highlight delicacy and precision. Gentle pressing and careful vinification define the Yursun De Lágrima wines, capturing the purest expression of the fruit.
Refined, Fresh, and Distinctive
Yursun Rosé De Lágrima and Yursun Blanco De Lágrima are wines of subtlety and character - fresh, expressive and shaped by thoughtful winemaking that lets the vineyard speak.

Yursun Rosé De Lágrima
Produced from a selection of Garnacha grapes from a single vineyard located in the Pago La Encinilla. The vines are at least 42 years old, covering 3.5 hectares on an east–west facing slope. The soil is ferrous clay with stones, at an altitude of 670 metres above sea level. First vintage: 2013.
Characteristics
- Wine style: Rosé
- Alcohol: 12% vol
- Grape varieties: Garnacha 70%, Viura 30%
- Harvest: Hand-picked, carefully selected
- Vineyards: Located in the upper zone of Cordovín; vines over 35 years old
Winemaking
After strict monitoring of ripeness, the grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected. Once destemmed, they undergo a very light maceration in the press, and only the free-run juice (“lágrima”) is used for this wine. The grapes are not pressed, allowing precise colour extraction and maximum aromatic expression.
The free-run must ferments in stainless steel tanks at temperatures not exceeding 16°C, followed by ageing on fine lees for five months.
Tasting Notes
Pale, bright, and highly attractive blush pink in appearance. The nose reveals an intense and expressive aromatic profile, with strawberries and other red fruits. On the palate, fresh acidity provides vibrancy; the wine is broad, fruity, and well balanced, with a creamy, rounded texture. The finish is subtle, persistent, and long, with citrus and white floral notes on the retronasal.
Food Pairing
A very versatile wine. Excellent with light dishes, seafood, rice dishes, raw and cooked fish, pasta, and white meats.

Yursun Blanco De Lágrima
Yursun Blanco was born in 2013 from the idea of producing a wine without pretence: expressive, with its own personality, reflecting the purity of our vineyards and the freshness of the Upper Najerilla. To achieve this, we selected our finest parcels following a detailed vineyard classification process, with annual monitoring to determine quality and optimal ripeness. These are the first grapes to arrive at the winery each harvest - the most eagerly awaited - allowing us to craft a joyful, luminous, and delicate lágrima white wine that truly honours its origin.
Characteristics
- Wine style: White “Lágrima” wine
- Alcohol: 12.5% vol
- Grape varieties: Viura 80%, Malvasía de Rioja 20%
- Harvest: Hand-picked, carefully selected
- Vineyards: Average vine age 30 years
Winemaking
Produced from a selection of vineyard parcels of the stated varieties, with exhaustive ripeness monitoring to determine the ideal harvest date and ensure optimal quality. The grapes are destemmed and cold-macerated at 5°C in an inert atmosphere. Only the free-run juice (“lágrima”) is used, which then undergoes flotation to ensure maximum clarity prior to fermentation. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at temperatures not exceeding 16°C, followed by ageing on fine lees for five months.
Tasting Notes
Pale lemon-yellow in colour, bright, with subtle steel-like highlights. At the rim, the wine is almost transparent, showing a fine, elegant tear. The nose is intense and fresh, with floral notes, abundant white fruit, Golden apple, and citrus aromas of grapefruit and lemon. On the palate, the wine shows both volume and freshness. The initial sensation is a lively acidity on the tip of the tongue, opening into softer, slightly sweeter notes where apple reappears. The texture is silky, with gentle hints of banana and white flowers, citrus zest, and touches of pineapple. The finish is long, fresh, and highly enjoyable.
