Family heritage rooted in Rioja Alavesa

Área Pequeña Viticultores was founded by brothers Joseba and Koldo García Quintana, third-generation viticulturists from Labastida in Rioja Alavesa. Since launching their label in 2020, they have focused on producing expressive wines shaped by limestone soils, a unique microclimate, and traditional winemaking values.

Chalkhaven Ltd proudly represents these boutique wines while also offering professional winemaking consultancy services, supporting producers with practical expertise rooted in decades of vineyard and winery experience. We celebrate independent wineries that combine heritage, craftsmanship, and genuine regional character in every bottle.

Boutique wines crafted with precision

Every stage of production at Área Pequeña Viticultores is handled with care, from vineyard pruning and hand harvesting to thoughtful winemaking decisions within the cellar. Joseba and Koldo prioritise small-scale quality over mass production, creating balanced and timeless wines that reflect authenticity and place.

Through close partnerships with independent producers like these, Chalkhaven Ltd brings distinctive Rioja wines to customers seeking provenance, personality, and traditional Spanish winemaking expertise. We also provide professional wine list advisory support, helping hospitality businesses create thoughtful wine selections tailored to their customers and venue style.

Wines shaped by the character of Labastida

Set beneath the Sierra de Cantabria, Área Pequeña wines reflect the limestone-rich soils, old family vineyards, and distinctive climate of Rioja Alavesa. Each bottle captures balance, freshness, and authenticity through careful vineyard management, traditional winemaking, and a deep respect for regional character.
